This imagery of a primary source can help historians find out how the children were treated in Shogunate Japan. In this image it shows that the children weren't being treated as they should. People may have many views of what this image can lead to and the historians would think of this as slavery. The children have been treated as slaves and may have being beaten if they had not have done their duties correctly. This helps historians investigate how the children were treated in this time by looking at the clothing, actions, facial expressions and the way the leader is acting. When we look at the clothing that the children are wearing it isn't the most comfortable clothing for children to be wearing. When we compare the clothing to the leader they are very different. The children clothing looks more worn out and scratchy. The leaders clothing is clean and looks so much more comfortable then what the children are wearing this shows hierarchy between the children and the leader. The Historians can also look at the actions that are being shown in this image. In the image the children are being made crawl along the ground. This definitely shows power over the children and this is child cruelty. The leader is standing and by looking at what the leader is holding it looks like some sought of weapon used to scare the kids and to keep them moving along. The children are carrying wheat grass by the looks of things it could be possible that they are taking it to the royals at that time. The leader at the back of the pack standing don't you just admire the skin how clean and shiny it looks but when you look down to those poor kids their skin is covered in dirt you just can't imagine how un healthy they are and the diseases they could have. When we look at the children we see how they don't have any shoes on which could cause many diseases and infections walking around barefoot every day being a slave. But when we compare this point back to the leader behind them telling them to keep walking the leader does have some sort of covering on his feet by the look of it. This shows some devastating points that I have highlighted. This Primary Source will definitely demonstrate to the historians investigating how children were treated in shogunate Japan.
